Preparing the Harvest
Can you believe Christmas is here again? Where does the time go?
Some of you are probably in the thick of madness that can rob you of joy during this holiday season. Scrambling for those last minute gifts causes unneeded stress. However, if you’re in that hustle and bustle this is the perfect time to share God’s grace with others. It can be as simple as a compliment, holding the door open for someone, wishing them a Merry Christmas, or even just a friendly smile. Simple gestures remind people what this season really means.
Buying something off a shelf has been less appealing to me than cracking open my craft box for a bit of DIY gifting. I love including my children when crafting because it instills in them the mindset of giving.
Homemade, (in my humble opinion) is the way to go! Nothing spreads a smile across someone’s face like receiving a gift made with TLC.
This peppermint sugar scrub whips up quick, and I promise it won’t break the bank. Several of the ingredients are probably already in your pantry. To make this simple recipe that will leave your hands and feet feeling soft and smooth you will need the following:
1 cup sugar
1 cup organic coconut oil (melted)
8-10 drops of peppermint essential oil (or any essential oil of your choice)
- Mix together sugar and melted coconut oil until well combined.
- Add 8-10 drops of peppermint essential oil
Packaging is key! I’m obsessed with mason jars so anything that I can put in them makes me excited. Grab some twine or ribbon maybe a sprig of rosemary, a twig off your tree, a candy cane, or anything else you can find to give it that special little extra touch. Its all in the details so get a little creative and have fun with it!
