Preparing for the Pandemic- Corona Virus

I wanted to post today, to address the fears and anxieties over the Corona virus and how to prepare for it. We at The Hallelujah House have been busy preparing our homes and children for the virus as we would a hurricane coming into town. God speaks in His word to His followers on being prepared, but this does not mean preparing in anxiety or out of a place of fear. We need to recognize that fear is in opposition to faith and is a tool of the enemy. Do not wander into Satan’s camp by acting out of fear. Being prepared for troubles is wise.  Being prepared puts you…

The Silence of Suicide in the Church

“My heart is severely pained within me, And the terrors of death have fallen upon me. Fearfulness and trembling have come upon me, And horror has overwhelmed me. So I said, “Oh, that I had wings like a dove! I would fly away and be at rest. Indeed, I would wander far off, And remain in the wilderness. Selah I would hasten my escape From the windy storm and tempest.” Psalms 55:4-8 (New King James Version)   Sometimes it’s not about wanting to die, it’s about not wanting to live with the pain. Plastered on the Front Pew

“Have mercy on me, Lord, for I am faint; heal me, Lord, for my bones are in agony,. My soul is in deep anguish. How long, Lord, how long? Turn, Lord, and deliver me; save me because of Your unfailing love.” Psalms 6:2-4 New International Version     Reeking of gin, one Sunday morning, I stumbled past the usher with glazed eyes. “If I had to be at church then it’s going to require some ‘liquid courage,”’ I thought.  I didn’t care if anyone could tell. A part of me dared them to confront me. I would have thought someone would’ve smelled it on my breath or at least felt…

    The Gift of Health

Preparing Health and Harvest If I could have one wish for Christmas it would be more time. Over the past six years I’ve had three baby girls, and as a mom of three I have little time to take care of myself. Between nap schedules, drop off’s and pick up’s, the soccer games on weekends, and the evening ballet classes, time for my own needs eludes me. About four years, ago after the birth of my second daughter, I realized I needed to start taking care of my body. Having children in itself keeps you active, but I wanted my muscles back. So, I stole the time and began working…

The Gift of a Healthy Cookie

Preparing Health and Harvest “Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own.” I Corinthians 6:19 English Standard Version The Bible tells us that our body is a temple and for me one way in treating it as such is providing proper nutrition; but I’ll be honest, I’ve struggled with eliminating certain foods from my diet.  When I entered motherhood, I prayed for the ability to teach my little ones to have a healthier pallet than I had. I hoped they would crave foods that are good for them, and I’ve made…
